What is Reiki?
In Japanese "rei" means universal and "ki" refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation that also promotes healing. The main focus of Reiki is to help others. It is a non-intrusive method of providing emotional, mental, spiritual and/or physical healing through a universal energy transferred through the hands of the practitioner to the client, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. It is used all over the world, including hospitals and hospice centers, to complement other forms of health treatments.
Benefits of Reiki
Reiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction and symptom relief to improve overall health and wellness. It may bring on a meditative state, foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery, stimulate your body's immune system, relieve pain and tension, support the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and/or kidney dialysis. (Reiki is not a substitution for current medical treatments)
How does Reiki work and what happens during a Reiki session?
The Reiki practitioner acts as a conduit between you and the source of the universal life force energy as the energy flows through the practitioners hands to you. During the session, you'll lie on a massage table, fully clothed, as the practitioner places their hands, palms down lightly on or just above your body in 12-15 specific energy locations.
What does Reiki feel like?
You may experience the energy in the form of sensations like heat, cold, tingling, or pulsing where the practitioner places their hands. Sometimes people feel sensations moving througout their body. Most people feel relaxed and peaceful during the session and may fall asleep during the process. When the session is completed, the practitioner will check in regarding the experience both of you shared.
Fees for Reiki sessions:
- 30 minutes for $55
- 60 minutes for $100

You will be expected to pay for each session at the time it is held. We take cash, check, debit, or credit card payments. We do not bill insurance for Reiki however, we can create a receipt/superbill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement, if applicable. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
